Roughly every ten minutes, somewhere on Earth, a new Bitcoin block is mined. Each block has a 64-character fingerprint (its hash) that nobody — not us, not anyone — can know in advance. Tenfall turns that fingerprint into a board. Because the number is public and unpredictable, everyone in the world gets the exact same board at the same moment, and you can check for yourself that we didn't pick it.

That is the whole connection. Tenfall does not use, hold, mine, trade or pay out any cryptocurrency. The block hash is just a very good daily number, the way a crossword is seeded by the date.

No. There are no stakes, no payouts, no wallets, no tokens and nothing of real-world value changes hands. Your score comes only from the moves you make on the board. "The Call" — predicting the last character of the next block — is a free guess for a streak and a badge, never for money or anything you could cash out.

Every board gives you thirty moves. Your finished run (the list of swaps) is sent to our server, which replays it move by move to verify the score — the app's number is never trusted on its own. You can play a board as many times as you like inside its window (it stays open until three more blocks have landed, about half an hour); your best verified score is the one that ranks. Your Daily Number is your best five boards of the day added together.

If you watch someone else's run on a board that is still open, your later scores on that board are saved but don't rank — so nobody can copy the world's best and paste it. A score you already posted is never taken away.

Two reference lines, the same for everyone. PAR is a steady computer player that takes the obvious move each turn. THE MACHINE is a deeper search — the best run our solver can find, not the best possible. Neither affects your rank; they are there so a score means something even when few people have played the board yet.

Only for things you asked for. Two switches in the YOU tab: "call resolving" (one alert when the block your Call rides on is due) and "every new block" (off by default; a ~10-minute heartbeat for people who truly want it). No streak nagging, no "we miss you". Turn either off in the app or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Tenfall.

No. The app creates an anonymous player id on first open. You can choose a username for the leaderboards if you like. There is no email, password or sign-in — which also means we cannot move your scores to a new phone yet; that is on the list.

Email hello@bossygames.co.uk with your username (or a score and the block you posted it on) and we will delete your player record, runs, badges and push token, and confirm by reply. Full details in the privacy policy.

Tenfall is currently in TestFlight. Install Apple's TestFlight app, then open the invite link we send you (the public link will appear on the front page when it is ready). Beta builds expire after 90 days; install the next one when TestFlight offers it. Feedback via TestFlight's screenshot tool or by email is very welcome.

Check you are both on the same block height (shown above the board). If a run is rejected the verdict screen says so loudly; please screenshot it and email us with the block height — a rejection means the app and server disagreed about a board, which we treat as a serious bug.
